He heard more slip from beneath his feet and go over the edge as he clutched the fragile roots that came from the earthen wall next to him. The narrow ledge beneath his feet held him from the chasm that opened below, providing scenic vistas of the depths of the canyon that from a safe vantage point would have been awe inspiring. But now, here, he couldn\u2019t bear to take in the scene. Forward is the only possibility.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t know,\u201d he said, \u201cI think this is a great place. Maybe we could just stay here.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNonsense! You can\u2019t even sit down. You\u2019ll tired shortly and then what?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAll I know is I can\u2019t do this!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou don\u2019t have to do <em>this<\/em>. All you have to do is take one step, the next step. Then we\u2019ll worry about the step after that. One step. That you can do. Now lift your foot and move.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">********<\/p>\n<p>Do you know that feeling?<\/p>\n<p>I do. Right now.<\/p>\n<p>Doing the will of God can be scary. Stepping out to follow God\u2019s commands is more than a little frightening at the moment.<\/p>\n<p>But <em>back<\/em> is not an option; <em>forward<\/em> is the only way.<\/p>\n<p><em>Forward<\/em> is the challenge that confronts me right now. One step. Just one.
